Melissa attended and performed at the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) 9th Annual "Finding A Cure: The Love Story Gala" at The Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles on May 19. The 2012 JDRF Angel Award recipients were Stephen and Linda Wallem and Showtime’s Nurse Jackie. In 2009 Linda Wallem co-created Nurse Jackie and used her brother Stepen's role as a platform to put a face on type 1 diabetes (T1D). Melissa performed with her friend and American Idol alumni, Crystal Bowersox. View more photos.
